When I discovered the explore chat three years ago (took me a while to scroll down the page cause I'm slow like that) I was struck by the community of posters here.
It took no time at all to realize that there were close friendships and family here, and yet there was still welcome and generosity to newcomers.
Juergen was one of those posters. I'm grateful for the chance to have known him here.

Juergen's love of the bears was obvious. He was serious about them, but was also seriously funny about them too.
I still remember the first time seeing pics people posted for Juergen of bear butts for his collection. I had no idea what was going on, but it made me laugh. His Flickr album has over 1600 "butt" photos.

Explore.Org's Rememberance of Our Beloved Bearcam Chatter Juergen Blog and In Memory of Our Friend Juergen Video:[]
On February 1, 2019, Explore.org published their In Rememberance of our beloved bearcam chatter Juergen blog.
"The Bearcam community lost a beloved member this week, our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. I know none of us will be able to see a bear butt and not think of Juergen. He was a fount of bear and beluga knowledge, which he freely shared. He made us laugh everyday with his gifs and videos, he will be greatly missed by all of us."

"Juergen was a valued community member and friend. He made explore.org a brighter place by sharing his love of animals, especially bears. Juergen made us laugh with cartoons, quippy words of wisdom, and his affinity for collecting pictures of bear butts. "To all that loved my beloved Juergen , I have no words to tell you how much I’ve needed your support, im in denial and my heart is completely shattered ! But seeing your love for him that goes so deep it’s undeniably that he was the most wonderful,sweet , kind loving beautiful man that ever was. I was so shocked that he even talked to me , because as most people know he was a flirt, talked to everyone but not me . But as soon as we talked that was it ! It was Love ❤️ it stayed that way everyday and even now I can feel him with me . I miss my beloved Juergen, I want him back so much , this void is will never be filled. I will always try to honor his memory and in some way carry on Juergens love for all .
His funeral will be tentatively Feb 15 , , have not talked to his parents today , but his brother . He is still in shock as well as parents , will talk with them in morning , I am planning to go,,
So great to see loved ones come back . Im sorry I have not been on . Im simply not able to stop crying . Love to all !"

Bearcam Community Takes Action to Help Tahna Get To Germany for Juergen's Services:[]
Bearcam community members took to action to help Tahna get to Germany to attend Juergen's funeral services and say her final goodbye to him. GrandmaJ (Jane) got the ball rolling, other community members stepped up to help organize a way to help Tahna, Tahna's address to accept donations was emailed to community members by GrandmaJ (Jane), Martina, and Jen. Those who wish to donate directly to Tahna via mail can contact GrandmaJ (Jane) via email at sasha.grizz@gmail.com or Martina via email at paulyki@gmx.de .
