What We Learned About Them From Ranger Dave, November 9, 2017:[]

Ranger Dave did a comment chat on November 9, 2017 where he shared some photos and information about the subadults observed in 2017. Below is what we learned during the comment chat:
Please also note: The following ID's are believed-to-be, they are not confirmed by DNA and as of 11/09/2017 they remain un-numbered. Numbers will be assigned by Ranger Leslie Skora, KNP&P Wildlife Biologist and Ranger Tammy Carmack, KNP&P Bear Monitor at a later date. These subadults may receive ID numbers in the 800 series.
810 ~ 94's Male 2.5 Year-old Subadult:[]

This subadult is believed to be the remaining 2.5 year-old offspring from 94's 2015 litter. This subadult looks very similar to 273's 2.5 year-old male subadult, but is slightly smaller. Ranger Dave said that "the differences he noted betwen 94's 2.5 year-old male subadult and 273's 2.5 year-old male subadult are ear-placement, overall size (hard to tell from photos) and muzzle shape".

NOTE: 806 IS THE 2017 "LITTLE LIP FISHER", NOT 804) []
804 (SHOULD BE 806) "Little Lip Fisher": (132's???) She was assigned number 804 in the 2018 Bears of Brooks River Book:[]
NOTE: The 2017 "Little Lip Fisher" was originally ID'd as bear 804. It was later determined that the 2017 "Little Lip Fisher" was assigned bear monitoring number 806. The believed to be identity of this subadult has not been revealed by rangers. Some cam viewers now believe she is the 3.5 year-old offspring of 132 (thanks Mike Fitz) , emancipated in 2017 after spending a thrid summer with the family group containing her two other siblings. Ranger Dave has shared cam viewers thoughts and "supporting evidence" with both Ranger Leslie and Ranger Tammy. Ranger Tammy finds the photos supporting Little Lip Fisher being one of 132's 2014 offspirng interesting, but wanted to talk more with Ranger Leslie about it. Ranger Dave did comment that Little Lip Fisher is a previously un-numbered bear that has not been identified as an independent bear in prior seasons, Little Lip Fisher remains one of the 2017 season cliff hangers and cam viewers will have to wait for Ranger Leslie and Ranger Tammy to return to the park in the spring to learn more about their thoughts on this subadult. 811 ~ 402's Smaller Female 2.5 Year-Old Subadult:[]

This subadult is believed to be the female offspring from 402's 2015 litter; the smaller of the two remaining cubs from that litter.

831 ~ 504's Lighter Female 2.5 Year-Old Subadult: []

This subadult is believed to be the female offspring from 504's 2015 litter, the lighter of the two cubs from that litter. Some cam viewers often referred to this 504 offspring by the cam viewer given nicknake "Salt".

821 ~ 504's Darker Male 2.5 Year-Old Subadult:[]

This sudadult is believed to be the male offspring from 504's 2015 litter; the darker of the two cubs from that litter. Some cam viewers offen referred to this 504 offspring by the cam viewer given nickname "Pepper".
Please note: The cause of the large wound on the right hip in photo #2 is unknown.

2017.07.23: Subadult eating on a rock video by Brenda D. There is speculation that this is one of 132's 2014 offspring (two of which were eventually ID'd as 805 and 806 "Little Lip Fisher"). Both 805 (aka GEO) and 806 "Little Lip Fisher" were discussed as options.
