Adult Male
Subadult Male: 2018 - 2020
Year First Identified: 2018 as an independent 2.5 year-old subadult, 2016 year of birth
Year Last Observed: 2024
Known Offspring Of: There is speculation in the 2018 bear monitoring notes that 913 "Moomba" is a male offspring of 39's 2016 litter , however there is no way to really confirm the link between subadults to the mother and siblings without DNA results.
Genetics Study Samples Obtained: There were no known genetics study samples obtained from 913 by Ranger Michael Saxton from 2016 through 2018.
Identification:[]
Mckate's ID Tips: 913 "Moomba" has a long, narrow, slightly roman muzzle, long oval ears, and copper colored head. He starts the season medium brown and is almost black by fall with just a hint of blond on top of his head. His long muzzle, neck, and legs give him the look of a thoroughbred.

Distinctive Behaviors:[]
913 "Moomba" is a serious angler who, like his brothers, fishes the lip, but prefers the J. He is usually around for a good part of July and sometimes returns in September. While 913 is a serious fellow, he still carves out time to play with his brothers and younger bears. He will happily share his scraps with others particularly his brother, 99.

Updated identification & distinctive behaviors information (radioquiet p 01/07/25 19:31):
"...913 is our J fisher that has a high tolerance for other bears in his space. He's the one that sheds more evenly and earlier in the summer. We often call him 'anvil head' due to the lack of distinct stop between his muzzle and forehead that makes his profile more anvil like than his brother. He's been monitored in summer and fall every year..."
