293 Long Neck has not been included in editions of the Bears of Brooks River books as of the 2018 edition. We have requested additional information and photos from the rangers.
293 Long Neck is an adult male bear with a very long neck. 293 is a lesser known bear to the park; he is not well known by Ranger Mike or other NPS staff. (See snip of comment by Ranger Mike in the 2014 section of Life History below).

293 Long Neck has been observed fishing below Brooks Falls, in the riffles, and in the lower Brooks River. Other distinctive behaviors of 293 Long Neck are not known to us. We have requested additional information about him from the rangers.
On November 13, 2014, Ranger Mike observed 293 Long Neck on the lower river cam and captured this photo :
