Known Offspring Of: The Bears of Brooks River 2021 eBook identifies 29 as the offspring of 451. That information is noted on page 30 of the Bears of Brooks River 2021 eBook under 27's Bear Book entry. "#27 is male and has two siblings #28 and #29." There is however no way to really confirm the link between subadults to the mother and siblings without DNA results.

29 was initially observed during the 2019 season. We are awaiting additional information from the rangers about this newly identified subadult female. Mckate's ID Tips: 29 is still a small bear with a frowny face, upturned muzzle, and tiny blonde ears. She seems to be one of the few bears whose coat lightens over the season. She begins with a dark blonde/light brown coat which is light and grizzled by late fall. By October she has a puffy bear hat and small beard. Mckate's 29 YouTube playlist.

Mckate's Notes: 29 spends most of the season at Brooks and rivals 821 as one of the most fun-loving bears. She will play with bears small and large including her siblings, 27 and 28, as well as 57, 205, 902, 164, 854's boy, 806's girl, and 39's brown boy. Her closest friendship in 2021 was with 208. She met this lonely boy at the falls and he joined her on the lower river for several weeks fishing and play.
Having spent almost as much time playing as eating in the fall of 2020, 29 showed up early in 2021 looking thin and was emaciated by the time the first fish finally arrived. She was the last bear to appear on the cams in mid-November and appeared to be taking her fall fishing seriously perhaps not wanting to repeat her 2020 mistake.
