Identification:[]
Mckate's ID Tips: 174 was a small sub who first appeared in late September 2020. He was born no later than 2018, but his parentage is unknown. In the fall, 174 is most easily IDed by his large poofy head. He also has a narrow upturned muzzle, a semi-prominent hump, and small bright blonde ears that initially earned him the nickname Princess Leia. His coat is dark blonde to brown.

Mckate's 10/21/2020 video shows 174 to be male. See video below.
Distinctive Behaviors:[]
Mckate's Notes: In 2020 174 made the rounds from the falls to the lower river, but didn't interact with other subs. Probably the most notable thing about him is that he likes to fish right above the falls.
174 returned in 2021 and quietly spent most of his time on the Big Island of the lower river. I wonder if he and 184 might be siblings. They tend to arrive at the same time and hang around the same area. They both have poofy heads and narrow muzzles and 184 is sometimes mistaken for 174.

How 174 Got Their Nickname:[]
174 does not have an official nickname. The NPS has moved away from naming bears at KNP&P.
While waiting for an official ID number, 174 was referred to as "Prince" by bear cam viewers. This is not an official nickname.
